Budgeting & forecasting

Scenario analysis on D365 — with or without Premium licences.

The problem

Budgeting happens in Excel next to the ERP; forecasts are stale the moment they are finished. D365 offers planning tools, but Business performance planning requires Finance Premium — an upgrade of €78 per user per month (from €182 to €260) that many organisations cannot justify.

Our approach

Two routes, one trade-off. With existing Finance licences we activate Business performance analytics (included) and build planning in Plan in Fabric — entirely outside the Premium requirement. If Premium is already in place, we implement BPP with write-back to F&O. We make the arithmetic transparent up front with our licence calculator.

Two routes compared

The choice between BPP and Plan in Fabric sets your licence costs for years. We answer it with numbers, before you commit.

BPP track

Business performance planning in Dataverse, writing back to the F&O budget register. Requires Finance Premium on the tenant — €78 per user per month above your current Finance licence (€182 → €260).

Fabric Plan track

Planning sheets and cubes in Microsoft Fabric, writing back to Fabric SQL. Requires no Finance licence of any tier — only Fabric capacity.

What you get

A working budgeting and forecasting cycle: input, consolidation, scenarios and reporting — connected to your actual F&O data.
